Costa Do Sol opened in 1996. Chef and owner, Joao, hails from Braga and his partner, Maria, from Braganca in Northern Portugal. Joao learned his skills at an early age working in restaurants in Portugal. Maria helped in her family's restaurant in Lisbon, where she met Joao.
Many of the desserts are home made. It's hard to choose only one with a list that includes rice pudding, caramel pudding, baba de camelo, molotof and of course gelato. The wine list has a good selection of both Portuguese and Australian wines. There is also home made sangria. If you fancy a beer, why not try Portuguese beers such as Sagres or Super Bock? The children may like to try the Portuguese soft drink.
The friendly atmosphere makes it a great place to bring along the family. The bright restaurant offers an intimate atmosphere with authentic artworks lining the walls including a hand painted picture of The River Douro from the north of Portugal and the Harbour of Porto.
